About me

Software Architect
Technical Lead

Hello, I’m Róbert,
an enthusiastic backend Java developer based in Târgu-Mureș, Romania.

Hi, my name is László-Róbert Albert, or simply Róbert. I'm a software architect, backend developer, technical lead, speaker and proud father of four, three girls and a boy.
This site is dedicated to improving the profession of software development, with a focus on high performance in Java. I’m the editor of the site and the writer of the blogs. Currently I work for Aurea Software as a Java Chief Software Architect.

This blog will serve also as my blog post for my DIY wood working projects, which I really enjoy. I started my DIY journey more than 10 years now, when we bought our first flat with my wife by assembling an IKEA kitchen module, than I created a custom table that will slide from the furniture. Later I created a bookshelf. Then we moved.
In the new house where I created a commode in the living room. We accommodated a playroom, where I added a wall table and other bookshelf's. For my girls I created a bunk bed. And my latest project is our 30 sqm wooden deck. Stay tuned.

I’m an enthusiastic backend Java developer.

I worked hard on backend systems over the last 10+ years, solving technical challenges of a broad range of enterprise Java applications. During these years I have had the chance to learn to handle Java’s performance in ways most people never thought of.

Back in 2014 I was asked to teach our inexperienced developers Spring Framework. This was the journey that introduced me to hold a speech in front of an audience, and I liked it, so after that I started holding tons of workshops for my fellow colleagues. Having several presentations on different subjects, like OSGi, Eclipse RCP, Microservices, Asynchronous code execution and of course Apache Kafka. After about 3 years of workshops I finally sent a CFP at an international conference too, and I was accepted so I continued my journey and since then participated at many international conferences.

I hold a Bachelor in Computer Science from Sapientia – Hungarian University of Transylvania, and a Master in Intelligent Systems from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca.
